Well just got home from the hospital, my mate came off his Dt125 on a corner, skidded out (rear) and slid Up the hill, ill admit he was being a twat... going to fast showing off, i was following and rolled off as i knew it was a slippy road.

Bike went skidding down the road and came to a spinning stop, and lighting a patch of fuel in the road that came from his bike.

He sufferd some nasty injuries to his arms and legs, also a nice hole in his hand.

Im stood there trying to get his bike sorted with a copper (helping me) i sit on it kick it and it starts, so i let it tick over for a while and he says to me " you insured to ride that?".. he just stood there and helped me get it started and then done me for it.. gave ME a producer... wanker.

Week before a mate came off his Rs250 Rolling Eyes

Im sure you al know but the roads are slippy as hell, take care all Thumbs Up

Steve.

Not relevant as such but today was my first day riding in proper wet conditions.
The 'contact patch' on my kmx125 is pretty small.
Rode home like I was on egg shells.
My visor was so fecked up I couldnt see the line o traffic behind me. A good thing.
Even riding carefully I'd swear the back end squirmed a couple of times.

Hope you friend gets better soon and maybe has learned a (cheap) lesson.

I learnt the hard way yesterday, had been raining all day, car in front of me braked, so i braked gently and the front end just went from under me. Bike slid down road, slowly followed by me, luckily i was only going bout 20mph when i came off and got away injury free and with only light damage to bike (mirror smashed, indicator gone, scratched fairing and bent rear break lever)

Not sure if there was oil on the road as never thought to check till i was home. Rolling Eyes

Take it easy folks.

i remember when i was a winter rookie...theres something inyour mind that allways makes you think it twitched there and again...but you KNOW when it realy goes cos you dont "feel" it...not at 1st, i get abit of a sick feeling (probably cos by now i know how the bike whoudl feel when doing whatever, and when it does something different it kind of makes me feel wierd) then allmost imediatley you feel your ass step out or bounce abit...

but once youve had a few winters in 1" thick ice and 6" snow, skateing down the road stood up at 25Mph and realising that your only going to have lost about 2MPH b4 you hit that wall 200 yards down the road. thats when its time to think about if you realy want to be on the bike at all and the road starts to look quite attractive.

ive ridden after snow so bad i had to dig my bike out fo the car park and chisel off the ice round my brake disks that were locking the wheels with my keys. going round a corner at 3MPH revving the tits off the poor bike to keep heras upright as possible while the cop car behind you is going diagonaly! and it still did a 180 on that corner, slammed my foot down hit the ice again...good job the back wheel found some acctual road or id have been off.

ahhhthe good old days of Winter commuting at 1AM...

the worst bit when it rains is the few mins b4 its realy wet...just damp, and all the road crap isin that tiny buit of moisture and its like grese man! once its been rainign abit its fine as it washes all the crap off the road eventualy and just lieves you with the water to worry about. also wach out for those man hole covers...cos forsome rasonthey do like to have them on junctions and corners and they are worse then ice when you hit them in wet!

Hopefully i can keep the new SV650 rubber side down this winter Smile i managed it with the CBR125 in the incident above...and as i commute at much less extreme times now it willl be allright Thumbs Up

I rode my young brothers derbi GPR home in the cycle path with no helmet on and police at the scene didnt say anything, (his mate had just took it to go the shops and side swiped a car on a one way road that divides into two) Rolling Eyes

go to the cop shop and demand to speak to his cheif. explain the situation. and say you are not happy he allowed you to start the vehicle (with the pig there) and then ticketed you.

he is an idiot that should be shot in the head. (can you tell this annoys me?) Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
