Managed to break off the spout going to the vacuum line for my (02) SV fuel tap.

Gonna try and get a replacement.

If I can't, anyone see any problems with supergluing it back on (then maybe silicon around the outside to seal it.)

If you can get it to seal you would probably be OK, but I doubt it would stay in one piece for long with the vibration.

All the best

JB weld or Lumiweld. Thumbs Up

I made a whole fuel tap sediment bowl for my CB125TDC out of the araldite "Chemical metal" equivalent and it stayed put for two years.

enlarge the hole and fit a little piece of brass tube. Use an interference fit as any superglue or silicone in the fuel would seriously affect your fueling.

Ta.

Got one ordered, should be here tomorrow.

Will chemical metal be ok?
Don't really have time to sort out working out how to make a brass tube fits tomorrow.

Worse case, was thinking I could swing via Brands MRO which is on tomorrow and see if I can get one.

I can assure you from experience that chemical metal is impervious to petrol once it is set.

Might be better to make it out of solid chemical metal then drill out the hole for a stronger result.

The only repair I have attempted with chemical metal that has failed was on a cracked inlet manifold on an air cooled motor, heat was too much. I have seen a hole an inch in diameter through a crankicase fixed using the stuff.

a note worth mentioning for other people is I think petrol eats superglue - nitro fuel (RC cars) do and I think the same applies to petrol.

Cheers all, the one I ordered came through on time, so I just swapped over the bit that had the nozzle on it.
