After 20K miles I finally did it. Got caught out in the rain riding up the A2 yesterday morning. The usual story, car cuts me up, I brake, bike gets upset and throws me off.

I freely confess this WAS my fault. I was going to fast for the conditions and my front tyre was more slicker than a slicky thing in a greased tube.

The Bandit suffered bent handlebars and broken indicators + new tyre and a pair of trousers.

Lesson leant. Came to work on my SV today, being much more sensible.

the advanced rider clarts say I read in an off such as that the best thing for you to do is delibrately lock the back wheel up and knee the bike away from the direction your pushing off in an attempt to get the bike in front of you and you behind it. Last thing you want is to hit something stationery then have a big half ton of hot metal use your body as a breaker.

You seem to have got quite a few words in the wrong order here? Confused

How refreshing. No mention of "he cut me up/braked suddenly etc" Confused

Just pure and simple "I fu**ed up and fell off "Smile

Good to hear you're OK and the bikes not TOO mangled. Thumbs Up
