I fancy picking up a cheap bike from an accident repair place, repairing the essential bits but delaring it off the road.

The getting into drag racing on a bike, something like 10.50 class or 9.50 class

anyone know how you start in this world?

Go along and enter. Smile

Have you ever been drag racing? Done any 'run what ya brung'? I'd start there and once you're getting half decent times, you just find events and enter 'em.

www.straightliners.co.uk should be worth a look.

Can't see the point of trying to run in a bracket. Better to just go as fast as you can (after all isn't that the point of a 'drag' race).

As mentioned before, do some run-wot-you-brung and see how you go, before shelling out lots of wonga on a nifty setup etc.

Good luck! Thumbs Up

Mate of mine runs his Gixxer (no nos or turbos allowed), pulls a 7.5s quarter I think at 175+mph. But the costs involved are like Shocked

Think he paid £900 for a pair of ceramic wheel bearings...

was talking to a fella who was riding a 10.5 bike at the thuderball 2004 and he told me his bandit was pretty much stock except the regular mods people make for the road.

I can pick up a track only bike for not too much and so fancied having a crack. Slow bike first. Just hope my job comes through now!
