I'm keen to try a trackday however I am a bit anxious and feel that going along to watch may help me prepare. Are there any trackdays planned in and how do people feel about someone tagging along?

Ordinarily I'd just get stuck in but I've just recently bought a new bike and I'm still paying for it!

The easiest thing to do is just find a nearby bike trackday, then just turn up and watch, there usually isn't a problem with this!

Whereabouts are you located?

Castle coombe's close-ish. But you live right near the BCF crew, and they're very friendly.

Although when you actually get to your first trackday, it's not that scary really.

Thanks for the posts I'll be looking into getting to view a day pretty soon.

Hopefully taking part in a few soon after that.

I just figured it was a easier to visit and see it all for myself rather than piecing it all together from web reports and various posts.

Good to know I'm near BCF crew too!

in my humble opinion, I did my first track day the last week and watching the inters & fasts go out didnt prepare me in any way for what it actually feels like to be on the track. Sick but then I've only been riding 6 months which probably didnt help matters Laughing

Congrats on loosing your track cherry. Are you going back for more?

I feel there will be plenty to learn off track as well as on, simple things like fuel, maintenance and general logistics; what are the essentials etc..

I generally enjoy watching motor sport so it would make an interesting day.

To be honest your best bet is to get yourself on a track day, there's nothing like actually going out there doing it. Get yourself in the Novice session and take it at your own pace.
