My first thought was to cover the tank in that army netting but one i'm not sure if it would just look silly and two I'm not sure where I can get it from cheap (all seems to be like 30 quid for 50 billion metres on eBay, only need 2/3 foot max. Frames already black so wouldn't need much. I like the scruffy neglectid look

This over a yellow tank:

Can't really be bothered with spraying the tank or painting things camo green just want an easy fix, abit mank really with no contrasting colours to the yellow like a decal or something.

In BSH this month theirs a rat with a chopped up tyre (crosser I think) mounted upside down on the front mudguard Cool suited it really well didn't notice at first what it was.

I was checking for foot positioning for highway bars. I was using the bat tied to the exhaust to see what height was comfortable to mount some.

I have seen quite a few covered in scrim netting, which is a finer cotton mesh you can use as a scarf/veil. You should be able to buy a metre length of it in any army surplus store.

The way I have seen it done was to glue it down somehow (possibly using paint, resin or varnish?)

If you are doing it in true rat style, it will take all of ten minutes to actually paint the tank (and maybe an hour of preparation). Get one pot of paint of your chosen colour, one 1 1/2" paintbrush and a six pack of premium strength beer. Prepare carefully by drinking the beer. Once the preparation is out of the way, paint the tank.

EDIT: If you post the same question on https://www.ratbike.org/bbs I am sure you will get some helpful replies. (to post an image on that board, just type in the URL of the image with no tags and the board will do the rest).

love that scrim net, the army net was putting me off because it looks like it's trying too hard (fine line) but the scrim net is tidy.

On yeah, that bottom bike you posted just has a bungee net stretched over the tank. Probably to hold it on.

I'm no expert at pictures but how's this?

reckon this would be too much of a safety hazard?

mosquito net on the radiator. I suppose all it needs is one spill of petrol down the tank onto it and a dodgy wire or fag to hit it or something. Lets loads of air through it so it wouldn't be restricting the rad in any way (protecting it from stones if anything).

Looks dodgy to me, you could have a fire on your hands.

Disposable barbecues all come with a piece of steel, diamond pattern mesh on them. I always thought it would make a good radiator protector.
