Morning all, as you are probably all aware now, Fran and Eddie decided to try and take out a car on Tuesday night just after I left them ... needless to say the car won.

I've lost count the number of times Fran has said 'it wasn't my fault' ... as if we thought it would be ... but thought I'd make it clear ... this was not Fran's fault!!!!

Anyhoo, due to the accident the following things have happened ...

1) They are both injured and will be off work (6 months min for Fran).

2) The new house they were about to move too has been cancelled.

3) The new suite will also need to be cancelled.

Basically, as far as I am aware they are going to be rather short of cash the next few months, and it is with this in mind that I'm setting a little fund for our friends.

I've got a spare account that I can put money into, and if anyone feels like donating (large or small), then you can either send me a payment via PayPal (banditshigh@yahoo.co.uk), or if you PM me I can provide you with my address for sending a cheque.

I'll start the ball rolling with £25, and please let me know who you are when you contribute. I will make public the amount raised but will not release details of who's given what (it doesn't matter).

Thanks ... Barry ... on behalf of Fran and Eddie

P.S. Her mouth is still working perfectly Very Happy

normally im against this sort of thing. but considering the injuries and what they've had to give up as a result. its a worthy cause if ever there was one.

Personally, it wouldn't matter to me whether it was her fault or not, she's a biker down and her life has changed dramatically because of it. Poor thing must be beside herself. I'm a bit brassic atm but will get something to you in the next week or so if that will help Thumbs Up

Slightly off topic, but I hope that this is the doctors being over cautious. They often seem to aim on the down side for recovery times. When Charlotte broke her leg badly she was off work for 3 months, but 3 months after that the doctor said they should think about letting her back to work,

All the best

they do tend to do that...

according to the consultant when I had my off, I should have been in bed for at least a fortnight before even trying to walk again,

I was home in 15 days

I'll see what I can do to help, but having just bought a house myself, I'm a tad strapped

Personally, I reckon it should be the other driver's insurance that's dipping into its coffers, not BCF passing the virtual hat round...

Just remember, FA and Eddie aren't virtual to a lot of people on here. They are lovely well respected people. The sort that would inconvience themselves to help someone else out (not many of those types these days)
I would much rather help these guys out by donating a little than blowing it on beer, fags or whatever.

You are right in one respect - they should be compensated, but the reality is that it could be many years before they see that. Thay need help now, if you can be of assitance, please contribute, if you can't, well, post your GWS and leave it at that.

I have income replacement insurance in place for such situations. Hopefully they will have too.

I would be happy to put into a pot for a gift card/flowers etc tho.

Thumbs Up

i think if someone feels good for giving some money to fran and Eddie, then why not.

I think giving money can sometimes be as rewarding as spending it. I know this is a selfish way to look at it, but if it feels good, give.

We cant know who's fault this was, or who's fault it was that frans injuries were so severe, but even if it wasnt the car drivers fault, it sounds like fran and eddie have lost out due to this accident in more ways than one and it might be nice to help them. If I imagine myself in the same position, it would feel great if some people I didnt know wanted to help.

Fran and Eddie didn't ask for this ... I did as a mate.

If you wish to contribute then fantastic, if you don't then no problem.

The insurance will eventually pay out, but anyone who's ever been involved in a claim will know how long it can take ... I'm just trying to help out in the short term.

What goes around comes around as they say ... help somebody out today, and tomorrow someone might help you Smile

Whatever you do, take care ... we're all bikers and that's what matters in the end.

All the best ... Barry

I think what you're doing is one of the best things a mate could do.

I've had friends hurt and it's frustrationg not being able to do anything to help them, this is a great idea.

Thumbs Up
