Hey guys....

My suggestion is, why don't we have a glossary section here for specific biking words and catch phrases?

You might take it for granted, but I'm not English, nor do I 'hang out' with other bikers (at least not currently), so a lot of words or phrases especially mechanical were (& are) lost on me.

Just thought it might be nice to have a page where you could look up things.

E.g. knee-down was`fairly obvious, figured out what 'doing a ton' meant but believe it or not, I didn't know words like 'filtering' and 'textiles' even though I knew the concepts, just didn't know what they were called.

Quite a few bike parts are totally lost on me, also.

Second suggestion: can we have two distinct sections for newbies? one for forum newbies and one for newbie bikers?

Thanx.

Hmm I came in here to mock this...

But... it's not a bad idea. If Korn would allow someone to do one it could be made a sticky in 'new bikers'.

Happy days.

Here is another word I don't know what the meaning of is:

Baffle.

I understood that it has something to do with the exhaust, just don't know what.

You can say I'm truly....baffled.

sorry couldn't resist

Nothing stopping anyone making one.
No point making anything sticky until it's ready however Wink.

From what I know (Which is probably wrong) a baffle is a small tube of metal that runs on the inside of your exhaust to keep the noise down and to restrict teh airflow in the bike.

Hey Phantom...you have my blessings Wink

You know what they say...if you build it they will come.

Just start a small list, and whenever I (or anyone else) get(s) stuck on a word, we'll just post it here.

Also, you need to make sure the descriptions are technically accurate.

Why don't you ask Korn if he can shove it in the Help area? I personally think it'd be better there!

Because nobody has been bothered, at a guess.

I expect very few people in the people gallery have had cosmetic surgery, while I expect quite a few people in the bike gallery have changed their bikes.

Have you got 100x the people that said no to say yes, yet? eh?
Have you sorted out a decent host, like grooves did?
Has anyone even looked it in the last week?

BTW, you should have seen my reaction when I heard the term for slowing down suddenly and lifting the bike up on the front wheel.

"Stoppie?! That's such a lame name for such a cool move!!"

Sounds like baby talk to me...HeHehe 'munchkin wanna stoppie?'

But I guess you get used to the names.

Very Happy
