Did a quick once over on my bike yesterday (after finally fixing all the electrical problems) and after i had finished i wondered how much work it would be to get the head bearings out to check them.

Just fiddled around with all the bolts on the top yoke.. and undone my steering head nut... with my hand, so that's why it feels like my bearings had gone.

Finally got it tightened up and stuff, took it out for a blat and noticed the knocking had stopped. But when i turn the bars from left to right, there is a knowck when the bars go straight!

Would this be new head bearings (would it be top or bottom / both)

also would anyone have a *old* set of head bearings for an FZR600, or all the information about them, as i can get them made instead of buying some Twisted Evil

cheers. Drummer

Did you visually check the bearings? Clean them up and regrease them?

Hi

I threw the old ones out about 2 weeks ago Crying or Very sad .

Think they are a standard bearing, but the seal is a problem.

Bottom bearing is the one that is most likely to be trashed. It is easy enough to change as there are cut outs to use a punch to knock the outer race out. Top has no cut outs and sits flush so is a pain.

All the best

Keith
