I've got a Honda NTV650 with a rather poxy "Stanley" (whoever they are! ) H4 headlight. The headlight gives off a nice warm glow on dipped beam, but I commute down some country roads and it would be nice to see where I was going now that the nights are drawing in. The bike has a Powerbronze fairing fitted, so I cant change from the standard round light (that and part of the wiring loom is in the back of the light).
Does anyone have any ideas / experience with better lamp units or other H4 bulbs that would actually light up the road?
Cheers

If those are the same ones I got, they are pish. They take a crappy H3 bulb and have a very diffuse pattern. The output is improved by removing a baffle plate from inside the lens but still not good enough to see by in the dark. They appear bright when you look at them and are helpful for penetrating fog/mist as an accessory lamp but as a main light source they are useless. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |
