So-so.

That's quite a high mileage, I've seen GSXRs with less mileage go for less.

That said, I'm an eBay shopper, so prices are lower.

If it's in good nick, has a FSH etc, there's nothing wrong with that price. Thumbs Up

Recently bought a 2000 GSX-R600Y for £1895....high mileage though. Seems to be a bit of a buyers market at the moment....just look at the unsold bikes on ebay....you may be able to haggle on the price if it's the bike for you.

i only got my license recently and have been test riding bikes

i tried a 98 gsxr600 that was on at a similar price in coventry

the speedo would bounce between 10mph above and 10mph below the actual speed

definitely test ride b4 buying

i have also test ridden an r6 that would pop out and back in gear in second at about 6k revs. bit unnerving on a bend

you dont know what you ahve until you have ridden it

personally i would suggest riding more than one bike to find what you like but i can understand not wanting to hang about, and to just get anything that isnt too crap

i preferred the thundercat,tt600, and r6 to the gsxr600 but you might like it

Yeah but if you'd researched the bikes a little more you would reaslise that 'fault' is actually pretty normal, in r6's anyway. A commonly reported fault. More of a 'quirk' so I'm led to believe.

I've been looking at srad's recently too, seem quite cheap at the moment, all the one's on ebay. Theres a red and black one, looks lovely.

well G told me not to touch that one so i dont think most r6s are as bad as that. G reckoned 2nd gear was on its way out

even the guy selling it admitted it was a problem and said it might be missing a few teeth on the gear or something

not really a cheap fix for that

not a case of me doing inadequate research im afraid

some ppl suggest i do too much research and shd go out and buy something, anything

its nice when ppl suggest i shd be more thorough Smile

Argh!! What have I done??!?!?

Wink

Just read in a magazine review a few years back that their test one did it a couple of times. They said it was a common fault although if it does it a lot I guess it's on it's way out.

Only thing I could recommend with an srad is make sure you get it up to temperature and see how it acts around town. Have heard of people's overheating.

reading magazines is no substitute for test rides

i think its sweet that most ppl on here wd prefer to buy something without doing many test rides just on the say so of what they have read.

theres no reason to be shy, lots of nice ppl want you to try their bike as they think if you try it you will fall in love with it

(be careful this may happen)

Laughing

Yeah I know that. Laughing I was simply referring to the fact that in the magazine it mentioned the 2nd gear quirk, and you found it too, so it was something to look out for.

Depends how its been looked after mate. Have a good look at it and make sure you get a ride on it. That is a fair few miles, but they may have been kind miles. Be careful dude.

I'd say not.

No mention of any service history simply based on the fact there is no service history mentioned and at 27k it should have had a few major services including expensive stuff like valve clearances. If the service history is all in order then I guess it sounds a fair enough deal but at 27k if its not got a good service history then I'd say leave it unless you're prepared to spend lots on servicing when it goes bang.
