It doesn't sound like there's any plans to do anything about it, just a test for the media attention probably, despite what they say.

If Schumacher can ride a bike at all, I'd expect him to have some serious talent, as the essential skills you need to drive an F1 car apply just as much when riding those bikes, if not more.

Course he won't be breaking lap records. Laughing Why would he be any quicker than your average rider? Hell why should he be quicker than anyone? So what if he can drive an F1 car, bikes are something else entirely and unless I'm mistaken his usual 2 wheeled outings are on paddock scooters.

Rossi on the other hand started on four wheels so it's no surprise he is fairly quick in an F1 car.

im always confused by the way people talk about shumacher,

to loosley quote my gf's dad

Quote:

Shumachers a C*nt, always wins everything!

Rossi's amazing, wins everything!

Its plain to see shumacher is the legend of these times, shumacher wouldnt beat fangio in a 50's ferrari D50 but fangio wouldnt beat shumacher in a modern day F1 car either!

Its horses for courses!

But how often does he get a chance to ride it? I really can't see him being a special rider by anyone's standards.

wouldnt like to comment on how well schumacher could or couldn't ride a bike round a race track.
but what i would say is that he could read a circuit ALOT better than anyone on here, he's spent loads of time going 200 miles an hour round one and he's got the same superior ability as rossi for setting up his machinery to suit one.
i wouldn't stake much money on him being beaten by your average rider round mugello.

Laughing Yeah, right.

And another one wrote:

Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher tested a Ducati MotoGP bike on Monday at the Mugello circuit.

The tests were "purely for fun," Ferrari spokesman Luca Colajanni said. "It's just something he personally wanted to do."

The Italian news agency Apcom reported that Schumacher was clocked around 2min 14sec per lap. World champion Valentino Rossi won the pole position at this year's MotoGP at Mugello with a time of 1:49.223.

Rossi has tested a F1 car twice in the past two years with Ferrari, which has said it would welcome him to join it on a permanent basis in 2007.

Rossi is due to perform more tests with Ferrari this winter.

Sounds more like it.

How cool is that. Personalised leathers specially made (free no doubt), circuit to yourself and a GP bike.

Anyway, that seems a quickish time to me and sure he wasn't pushing it - i didn't even know Schuie rode a bike. And to compare Scu/Rossi seems a bit pointless as its different skills. Both are Gods at what they do.

Hard to say how they'd do if they swapped.

to be honest i'd say a transition from bikes to cars is easier than the other way round. It is easier to drive a car than ride a bike.
