PostPosted: 14:59 - 31 Oct 2005    Post subject: V5 Question Reply with quote

I'm a bit stuck and was wondering if anyone can help.

I have a motorcycle and it is registered to someone else, the thing is i have just looked at the V5 and it says i need to get the registered keeper to sign it, the problem with that is that it is a company and has since gone out of business.

The bike has been paid for so it's just the V5 that's in the companys name, they don't actually own the bike. What can i do? Should i just fill it in and not sign the bit for the registered keeper or should i just sign both bits myself??

Thanks.

When i sold my bike to someone who got it collected by a company i just signed my bit and wrote his name in the bit he should have signed. It could be classed as fraud even though i had his permision i would think.

I would just sign both bits

The problem i'm going to have is the bit which asks when the sale/transfer was completed.

If i leave this blank will they still sign the new V5 over to me?

Thanks

If not just pay £19 and apply for a new V5, you can get the form off the DVLA site.

Either sign it yourself (duuu it Wink )

Or fill in a V62 and tick the 'V5 not given to me by previous owner' box.
