This is a bike that's up for sale very close to where I live, the listing has ended with the reserve price not being met. There is a small scuff on the crank case cover as seen in photo, not shown is the very slightly bent gear lever and a small scuff on the fairing. I know he has it advertised for 2,995 elsewhere but I feel this seem too high, I have checked parkers price guide they recommend 2,800 on a private sale I know he will drop a little, about 300 quid but would like to hear what you guys think???!! Confused on what would be a fair offer. Thumbs Up

Don't let the scuff put you off, they are easily repaired just make sure it is mechanically sound. Thumbs Up

Bit far away for me that Sad And to answer the other question from someone else:- It seems to have been well looked after, always garaged only ridden in the dry, even to point where the bloke stood the bike upright when he first started it so the oil was level. I am very tempted just hung up on the price really - had in my mind about 2,500 grand, the way I see it it's a buyers market as the winter is on its way Confused

Don't limit yourself to distance. Rolling Eyes

Get a mate or someone off BCF to go see the bike and they can tell you about it. If you want it, get a train there and ride it back. Surely?

My last bike was 550 miles away from where I live, the next one will be the same no doubt.

I'm surprised the bidding ended at £1500, thought it would reach a little bit more than that, even if it IS winter!

Thats a good idea, must admit the first bike I bought off ebay without viewing it, a little CBR125, only four months old but had no probs with that one! Got a GPZ 500s at the mo but so want a ZX6r. I know the bloke fairly desperate to sell as he is just buying a house. He paid 3,500 in July of this year from a dealer so I can see his point of not letting it go for too little.

The same bloke bid twice don't know what his maximum bid was though, and the seller also had the usual foreign scammers.

It's strange I love the bike, it's literally 10 minutes away from where I live, ok I did want one in Kwak green but red and black looks just as good, just got this stupid hang up about the price, don't know why, if I got one from a local dealer I'd be paying 3,500. It's been on a dyno got a dyno jet, datatagged..... I don't know... what's up with me Confused

Managed to wangle this one for £1800 today. You can find cheaper mate. I wouldn't want one that had been dynojetted personally.

Looks good for £3k, as others may have already stated, it's the wrong time of year to sell (although that goes against my recent sale Confused )

Take into account that if you were going miles to get a cheaper one, you're going to lose anything up to £200 in train fares and riding it back, or van rental, depending on how far it is. Besides the inconvenience of going.

If he's desperate you could probably get him down more, I'd go and haggle your arse off, you might be able to get it for £2500 which is a fairly respectable price, you'd look to pay more than that in Spring.

£482 TPFT Insurance, yee ha (online with current CIA). Will try and get it under £350 tomorrow when CIA open.

I still say it's not worth buying for £2.5k. The mods on it shouldn't be adding any value to it (unless it's alarmed which is good)

I saw that one on ebay, and thats a bloody good price you got it for, I was watching it to see what it went for. Whats the reason behind not wanting a bike dynojetted, don't know much about that side of it. I am guessing its there to improve fuel consumption... correct me if I'm wrong Smile

It's just personal preference to be honest. Engine modifications I wouldn't want, but parts like exhausts and cosmetic/useful bits I wouldn't say no to. I'd like the innards as standard as possible just so I know there is no dodgy work been done to it, you know?
