Some tracks wont let you with a restricted license, people have done them anyway and not been checked, but if they check and dont let you on track you've wasted £100+.

Dammit, I replied then I.E fucked up.

I started off griping about how this has been covered before.

Then went on to say, some companies don't allow restricted licences, but I've done 2 on a 33bhp licence.

One with Hottrax.co.uk and the other with TrackTimePromotions.

I would take the restrictors out. Then you have 155mph at the twist of the wrist. Very Happy

Did you specifically ask them whether you were allowed a 33bhp lincence or did you just show them it and nothing was said ??

Am thinking of booking a trackday with hottrax for the 14th of november at brands, sais on the website

You must be over 16 years of age.

You must have a full valid DVLA Driving Licence with a category A for motorcycles. This must not be restricted.

bit confusing as you can only get a unrestricted lincence at 19 at the earliest/?

Any info would be great Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I have been to a lot of trackdays and I've never once seen anyone look at the back of someone's licence. Quite a few places seem to say it on their site, none seem to check.

Incidentally, the 'over 16' would be because you can do trackdays (with some companies) on a racing licence rather than a road one. And you'll find young kids with racing licences.

ummm, I suppose, my trackday was fun at Snett, but the straights aren't fun. Smile

Snett on 33bhp is plenty fun.

"I loved that MZ - f*ck me it was getting wasted down the straights but would come back round every lap with the same group of 600's/ thou's so obviously wasn't throttling-off in the corners !"

So there you go, slow bike, just don't slow down!

Hottrax was a bit of a monkey outfit compared to TrackTimePromotions. They only looked at my licence, saw it was pink, checked my name against the list and put a band round my wrist.

Easy.

No. It won't be checked, and even if it was, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. But don't go shouting it around.

Sammyboy did Snetterton on a 33bhp licence on a non-33bhp bike. It's really not a problem.

You don't actually *need* a licence to do a trackday. I asked the very same question to a mate of mine who runs trackdays, and he said I would be fine on a 33bhp licence so long as the bike I am doing it on is obviously no more than 33bhp. Then he went on to say that if I just turned up on the day with no licence I would still be allowed because all they ask for your licence for is a declaration by the rider that they can actually ride a bike. Therefore it wouldn't matter what bike I was on. I have a mate who races a Fireblade in European Superstock who is still on a CBT on the road. Ok, admittedly he has a race licence, but still proves the point you don't need a full bike licence.
