ok so i head on out with my girl on the back and i stop on comes the oil light and oil can symbol on the dash i think hmm wierd i then turn the engine off and check the oil theres plenty there bang on the full line so i set off again stop at some lights and on it comes again the flicks on off on off rapidly so we turn round and head back to the house i drop her off and go to the local dealer and he says there's low oil pressure after sticking a pressure gauge on so he changes the oil and filter that doesnt solve it so he rings suzuki up and they say that it could be a pressure relief valve thats stuck open or the screen in the sump thats blocked its already had its first service and was fine its done 2669miles and the nexst service is due at 4000. Does any one now of this problem being a normal thing or had this problem themselves.

all help greatly recieved.

Are you meant to scrape knee slides or rip them clean off?

might have blown a small hole in a gasket lowering pressure. Is there any loss in performance, or oil leaks???

You haven't got a Meta (if I remember correctly) alarm by any chance have you? My mate has one on his Gixxer and it uses the oil light to warn you that the alarm is not set properly. Turn the bike off, leave it to arm itself (30 sec) and then disarm, I bet that the oil light will behave itself.

Bloody stupid idea, using the oil light for the alarm.

Cheers

Yeah, remember it's an oil pressure switch, not an oil level switch.

Mine came on when my head gasket was weeping slightly. Could be a faulty switch.

Also when you're at lights it's not pumping the oil around as hard, and I'd expect the oil pressure to drop.

Hope you get it sorted out.
