hi guys, i have a query, i have a zxr400 and the engine is kinda goosed, but dont worry as i have a newish one to replace, only problem is is garage is askin 700 quid to drop and replace which is diabolical, i live in buxton which is tiny and i dont have the funds to have it taken away to anoither garage, ive asked a few people and they have sed i shud just drop it myself, im well up for this as i guess its a learning experience but am just a little nervous bout fuckin it up, cud u give me any hinbts or tips or if theres any other zxr400 guys who have done this any feedback wud be appreciated, i have a decent set of snap on tools and a few jacks and sum timber for supports, also a digital camera for refernce, all im lacking is mechanical super skills, but is a straight forward swap really that difficult, heres a quick picture of the bike, please guys any help wud be much appreciated

nothing hard about it, take one out. put new one in, take pictures. make notes and dont do it over a long peiod of time cos then you forget everything.

but if you have the right tools it will be a case of common sense.

Do it yourself, I had to do exactlty the same as you with exactly the same bike about 9 years ago, when I had just about zero mechanical knowledge.

Just take your time you'll be ok. I think I managed it in about 5 or 6 hours. Thumbs Up
