HELP mt

hi i fixed a puncture on my front wheel on my mt50 and while taking the wheel off i have threaded the long bolt(spindle) so have ordered a new one.My problem is the threads in the forks where the spindle goes through are gone from when i hammered the spindle out.Will it be ok with no threads in the forks?or will it make the nut come off the spindle?PLEASE HELP??????

best thing to do is to try tightening the new axle up
50Nm should be fine with a good old torque wrench

if the axle keeps missing the thread and not tightening up enuf then you may have a big problem

is the axle a single unit? i.e does the axle have a bolted head and just the thread on the other end which locks into the fork? (no seperate nut)

hi the axle is: a bolt with about 1 inch of thread at the end which slides through 1 fork then screws through the other then a nut goes on the end

Hi, if there is enough threaded bolt coming out of the fork leg to attatch the nut to and tighten up safely (around the same amount of bolt as the thickness of the nut) then it should be fine make sure you use some thread locker and tighten it up though just to be sure Thumbs Up
