The tosspots working on pasture lane in rainford decided that rather than pump the water from their little excavated pit in to a drai, they would pump it across the road. In summer, i'd have no problem, but this means there is a film of water about 5m long covering the entire width of the one lane thats open, which will be ice by tomorrow! I commute that way regularly, and should i find myself slipping on ice there on monday, i'll be going postal on the site manager! Evil or Very Mad

Utter idiots!

Jack

Take a camera with you, and if it's icy and you come off you can take some pictures of the road surface and sue the bastards.

there are rules about where you can pump water from excavations and they are very strict.
large fines for getting caught doing wrong.
only problem is that most people in cars just accept that there is a shitty stripe across the road.
take pictures and shop the bastards before they kill someone.

So what would you do if you knew the road was closed for roadworks? Find another way, it can't be that difficult..

Near me they're always doing roadworks, and they never shut the roads. A few times they've done the same as Jack said, massive sheet of ice across the road because of water being pumped out.
