Does anyone know to attach skateboard wheels to the spindles of your bike like a makeshift crash bobbin? I've seen it done in a few pictures a while ago and I was just wondering how they did it as I have some spare skateboard wheels lying around and thought I might give it ago.

Like this picture only with a skateboard wheel instead of a proper bung:

Edit: Like this picture I found on google

Cheers

If it's a hollow spindle go down to B&Q and buy yourself a length of threaded bar, cut it down to size then feed it through the spindle and bolt a skateboard wheel to each side. Job done Thumbs Up

If it's not a hollow spindle it gets a bit more complicated.

I just checked (in the dark) and I'm pretty sure they're hollow but they have split pins at one end on both of them. Is it not recommended to take these out?

Thanks again.

Skateboard wheels suck. I've tried and tested them againt our products... www.rocksolidracing.co.uk

Crashed with skateboard wheels on my WR400 and the wheel gripped floor and bent the rod which really wasn't helpful.

I lost front end of KTM on track with RSR bobbins and not a single mark on the bike other than the grip Very Happy

Ady Smith uses them too that's how good they are Wink

Sparks it depends what grade of wheel you are using. You should probably be looking for the more plastic compound, as back in the day when i skated, the fuckers wouldent grip anything, resulting in many a sore arse! I could see wheels as being a good alternative, but be aware, some of the more expensive brands can be just as expensive as R&G's Laughing
