Oooo, V4s make lovely hacks - great (for a 400) midrange power allowing a few controlled rear wheel slides.

How I miss cleaning salt off single-sided white wheels...

You should be using that old Divvy sitting next to it as a winter hack Wink

Doesn't look like a divvy to me, although I might be wrong.

Agreed, that's a lovely bike. I'm thinking of getting something cheaper in fear of damaging my bandit in ice/snow/hail/rain/chavs over winter!!

Let alone a mint looking NC30..

Nice van aswell, that's a status symbol right there.

Cheers peeps but I'm not really a 'mint' anything owning person.. I got the bike for cheap as something to use as a commuter to keep my riding going out of race season but its turned out to be a bit of a gem really. I just cannot help riding it and only the past few days I've opted for using the van for work, due to the amount of ice on the road.

And its not a divvy, its the g/f's tzr125.. divvy.. lol Laughing

Have you got a website for your racing?

NC30 doesn't make a bad bike through winter I suppose. Just a shame, I'd be proud of that as my full time bike.

I do but its a bit basic.. needs updating.. mabaye this winter!
www.2smokeracing.co.uk

TBH its not as mint as it looks in the pics, sure the paint is good but it has seen a few rides down the tarmac judging by the bent rad and fairing repairs, the engine smokes a bit and uses about 1 litre of oil for around every 1000 miles. I'll get on with sorting it out as I go along, if I bin it then I'll just ride it as is then repair come summer! Keeps me occupied I guess!

A litre every 1000 miles? That's nothing spectacularly short is it? It's up there in the high usage levels sure, but there are plenty of other bikes that use that amount.

Lovely bike though, would love that full stop, let alone as a hack.

My GSXR400 drank the same amount of oil. 1 litre per 1000 miles. Not long after that it died a horrible death. Engine packed in completely. Sold the bike as a non runner for next to bugger all. I'd get it checked as soon as you can.

Depends whats causing it really, judging by the amount of smoke on warmup I'd guess at valve seals plus there is a wee bit of smoke on the ovverun.

Not too fussed, if it goes pop, it goes pop! Not bad an engine to strip so should keep me occupied for a while!

Didn't do any harm to my RVF last winter, although my cleaning routines were somewhat regular.

Remember to clean between the spokes, does wonders for unsprung weight.

Indeed! I find using one of those little sponges is ideal for getting into the spokes. Gave it a good wash the other day so its sparkling now, sat in its heated garage while the bloody house is freezing.. I have my priorities right I think!
