Hi,

Thought I'd try my luck on the technical page...

My XV535 won't start after being stood for a couple of months. I have put a new battery in but I'm having no joy.

The started motor is turning over but it is if there is no gas in the tank - it's not kicking in, just draining the battery.

Tried again today - this time tried starting it in first gear with the clutch in. It jumped, (stalled), I thought you could start a bike in gear as long as the clutch is in.

Could this be a clue to the problem.

Please help - can't afford garage bills.

Cheers

when my bike was stood for a month and once i had charged the battery Rolling Eyes Embarassed
i had the same sort of problem. fuel in the tank and starter clicking over and it wasn't starting, in the end after a lot of the starter clicking over the bike slowly began to breath life slowly at first but then gradually until it got started. i think there is something about fuel going off or something that i think was the reason for this. how long have you been trying to click it over for?
