field bike ???

hi i have just bought a yamaha rxs100 for £100 it is to be used as a field bike it runs ok but has little compression would it be best just to buy new rings or a whole new piston kit and how easy is it too change a a rear tyre on one of these shop or diy?

Hi, it depends on whether or not the barrel is scored which is meaning there is a loss in compression, that would mean it would be best to get a new piston kit and rebore the barrel. If not then just replace the rings. The tyre is a simple enough job as long as you have some long levers and and some fairy liquid to get the tyre back on Thumbs Up

If you are going to be putting a cheap knobbly tyre on it, getting the old one off is the only remotely tricky bit for which you will need tyre levers.

You can pretty much put a knobbly tyre that size on with your fingers.
