Will putting in new fork oil into the front shocks make them more responsive and better, And ho do you tell if your forks need replaced ? this talk of pitting? what is that and where on the forks if found will it fail an mot.

"Pitting" means small holes/scrapes/rust on the fork legs (on the thin/inner bit). Theyre a problem because theyll allow oil to leak out of the forks through them.

Forks dont need to be replaced, only the small seals inside them.

Putting new fork oil in is only neccessary if hte old ones are running low/leaking (which also means new fork seals are required).

If the forks are low on oil the suspension will be springy and light and imprecise.

Changing the fork oil can improve the feel of the front end especially if the bike is more than a couple of years old.
