Sorry, not an answer to your question, but do you want these for road riding?

I was looking at MX gloves recently and none seemed like they would be that great when interfaced with tarmac at speed.

I've got a pair of these. Not warm, but some of the best MX gloves for road riding. Alpinestar SMX gloves i think.

I use these, alpinestars SPS.

They're pretty thick, not warm but I'm still using them now and they do... protection seems pretty good with carbon fibre knuckles and extra leather bits everywhere. Comfiest gloves I've had as well.

I'd recommend them Thumbs Up

Thanks for the suggestions, some good choices there.

They're not actually for me, but my girlfriend's brother, 16 and rides a scooter. The gloves he got with the bike are too bulky and he can't get a good grip on the bars very well.

MX gloves are usually thinner, and also not waterproof but as he's only doing 35mph he won't be feeling the cold as much as some.

G - I've found that even a thin pair of Azonic (mountain bike brand) gloves cope with tarmac well, I came off at 30 on a corner and left hand took all the force. Not a scratch on the glove or my hand
