Hi guys,

sorry for the simple question, but I dont have a Haynes Manual yet so I cant looking it up.

I've just got my hands on a road legal can for the Bandit for the MOT. When it comes to removing the race can, is it a simple case of swapping the two. The legal can has the link pipe with it, so should I just join this to the 4-1 downpipes? Do I need to buy any special padding to seal any gaps?

Cheers

The only problem you might have is the gasket in the collector where the link pipe joins it, sometimes you get lucky and can reuse it but if it disintegrates you need a new one - £16.50 Shocked from Robinsons Foundry, usually a bit dearer at your local Suzuki dealer Sad but check first as with postage it goes up to £19 at Robinsons.

Blimey, and here's me thinking Honda were expensive. The Blade gasket is only a fiver. The rarely seal properly second time round though, so I'd get a new one. If they don't seal, you end up with loads of backfires as there will be air leaking in.

Cheers

Only problem with the gasket cement is that particular gasket is a bitch to get sealed right, gasket silicone RTV is a better bet but its an odd shaped thick one on a Bandit and most owners just bite the bullet and get a new one, it's expensive but saves a lot of hassle.
