Got it back today, after paying £142 for the priviledge of getting it stolen.

Not in bad nick actually, none of the indicators broken, neither of the mirrors broken.

Bent gear selector, that I bent back by hand, front brake lever snapped, couple of tubes burnt where they've tried to set it on fire. But they conveniently missed the one coming out of the petrol tap, and petrol tank... I wonder about the quality of Bristol's chavs. A scouser wouldn't have missed that!

Fly screen still in tact. The sticker from my trackday is still on the front mudguard. (Bloke who found it commented on that).

Not seized, although it's now /very/ low on 2 stroke oil.

Apologies for poor pics, I'm heading back home for Christmas now, and had very little time.

Major thanks to 'leatherboy' from visordown, for finding it, and doing everything he did. Including phoning me to make sure everything was ok. Major thanks to Maurice to pointing out his thread on visordown.

And a big Middle Finger to the police, who refused to attend even when a theft of my bike was in progress.

Yeah nice one. gotta be happy about the retrieve but pissed about the cash to get it back.
Insured or not worth it ?

Nah, they burned through my vacuum hose instead of the fuel line...

You're one lucky bugger to have got it back in decent condition have you had it running yet?

We have had out house insurance extended to anything on the property, so if i leave my bike on the drive, it will be covered iff stolen, might be worth checking with your insurance company if they can do the same. The extra charge was tiny. I'm assuming you're TPO here, too.

Is that how you set fire to a bike then? Always wondered how they did it with a modicum of safety.

No, it happened to him, they burnt through the vacuum hose, which again, has no petrol.

You just need to catch some petrol. If you catch the hose it'll be a couple of seconds before the petrol catches so you can run/hide etc.
