Another insurance rip-off, grr

You really can't win with insurance companies, they screw you for every last penny.

Ok, last year I added a Honda super-dream to my policy, which cost an additional £32. Didn't think that was too bad. Insurance came up for renewal in October, which was fine.

Now, I sold my honda last month, so I rang up to cancel it off the policy. Now I'm thinking, 10 months of premium to be returned, should at least cover the £20 admin fee that I knew full well I was going to get stung for. But no. 'Ok then sir thats all done for you, that just leaves a balance of £49, how would you like to pay'. I'm gobsmacked at this point. She explains that on top of the admin fee, there is extra on my premium to pay because I no longer qualify for a multi-bike discount, WTF? I explain that the bike is only worth £150, and if thats the case I'll soddin keep it to keep my premium down! In the end I got her to waive the extra premium and just pay the £20 admin charge.

I was not best pleased. And to top it all off, they've sent my new details through today, and it would appear I have received someone else's policy for a peugeot van, and not my own. Glad my £20 was well spent then. I'm assuming some other mug has got my certificate.

'Direct-Choice' btw, whom on every other occasion have been good.

So, it costs to add a bike, it costs more to remove it. Clear as mud.
