Went on the toy run this sunday, my first one.

Cue a beautifull sunny day mid-december, we meet at 8:30am, me on the GSX-R600, mates on a VFR400, CBR600RR and a V-Strom 1000. The Strom rider says 'are you guys coming to the toy run too? Ahh. Hell, why not. Head to some pub somewhere i cant remember with about 200-250 bikes estimated to meet at a pub in leicestershire, by 11am there are 500 people there and they're still arriving.

We ride with police escort to grantham, through the town centre, where all the residents have come out to wave and cheer, and funniest of all, 3 chavs on scooters do a u-turn to try and join but no-one lets them into the line! haha anywho, get to grantham hall where the mayor comes out, we go in for free cups of tea, and a mince pie. MY mate eats 9 and feels sick, and my mate paul's CBR600RR wont start. Quality.

Yes that's santa on a vincent.

We leave ahead of the crowd and hit the A607 to Melton Mowbray, and incredible roller-coaster road, gives us a chance to thrash it a bit, and we speed off to the last rally point, Tesco in Melton, buy some toys (would have felt really guilty without) and decide to cover the bikes in tinsel and stuff.

So we get to a school in Melton where the toys are collected and given to local orpans.

All in, a really nice ride, fantastic to be part of something good, and the best thing was seeing so many locals happy to see bikers.

After all that, we decided that as it was such a gorgeous day we'd ride as long as we could.

so we head to a bowling alley some 20 miles up the M1, and i will admit we went a bit fast, I saw a lotus exige blitz past and i saw the red mist and went for it, undertaking, 3 figures on the clock etc and having a really good time.

And we went bowling. in our leathers. ace.
