Nope, restricted 50's are not worth having. In my opinion they are a lot more unsafe by being able to do 30 top than doing 50+. When a car pulls out on you or is up ur ass on a restricted 50 ur screwed, yet on a derestricted you can usually get out the way and stick to most of the larger speed limits. Twisted Evil

My 50 wasn't restricted, had a terrifying top speed of 39mph until I got the powerpipe and was pulling a mighty 48mph Very Happy

My ped was restricted for about 3 months, then I got bored and started "tuning" it. Hell of a lot you can do to a little 2 stroke, and I had a lot of fun doing it Smile Learnt quite a bit about engines from it, too.

l also belive its safer to have a de-restricted 50cc for getting away from junctions quicker and genrally not pissing other road users off in 40/50 limts.

My dad insisted that l get my 50cc bike de-resticted as soon as l got it for prevoius reasons, 30mph limted just is,nt safe.

Has anyone ever heard of the police catching someone on a derestricted 50cc and doing them for it? Would you just be handed a producer or what? As far as im aware, my bike is as the factory made it, but i havent had it over 30 yet (due to never acctually driving it on a road!)

30mph peds are dangerous. Mine was never restricted and the copper didn't mine when they pulled me at 50mph.
