RS50's can be picked up for £600, good to learn gears on, handle better than most scooters and look more like a bike to n00bs.

Get your self a Rieju RS2 50cc MATRIX Race Replica Thumbs Up

there the best looking 50cc
" " " most durable
supposibly the fastest when de- restricted and done properly
have the best breaks on a 50.
the rarest 50cc, not seen another on the road yet
but it can be difficult to find the parts you want for them, performance that is, just contact CG Chell, the UK Dealer and the can sort out your replacement parts

Thumbs Up

Variations of the RS are the Derbi GPR50, Rieju RS2, Motorhispania RX50, Peugeot XR8, there's a couple more. All effectively the same machine, except the Derbi, which has a different engine.

I don't recommend the sports ones though; if you're going for a geared bike I'd go for an off road style one. DT50 for example.

best looking 50 IMO is an old one, but a good 'un, and also very cheap Smile This model derbi GPR 50;

(on the right, left is my NSR, obviously)

They look really good, nice and light, too. Little more robust than an RS, IMO, they tend to withstand drops better.

Goes well, too Smile Thumbs Up

Derbi has worse build quality as does Reiju, the reiju will not be faster as it uses the same engine as the rs50 and weighs more. The brAkes are better on the rs. Looks is a matter of opinion.

The reiju, motorhispania and peugeot are all about equal, all cheaply made and all will fall apart soonish.

The gpr makes slightly more power than the rs as standard.

Arrow Something with gears.
Arrow Something cheap.
Arrow Something without fairings.
Arrow Something that's not been owned by some pedboi who tells you about how amazingly fast it is.
Arrow Something that's mostly standard, the more aftermarket anodized parts there are fitted to it, the less it's been looked after.

Sell it once you're 17. Thumbs Up

Not strictly true anyway. It is in a lot of learner bikes I suppose, but not all the time. The one which is owned by a mechanics son - that's the one to buy. Laughing
