Pressure Washers

When cleaning your bike with a pressure washer, what have you got to avoid spraying- i vaguely remember someone saying before.

Avoid the centres of the wheels (wheel bearings) and the steering head.

Also avoid spraying where the swing arm joins the frame/engine. I used to spray my bike here and it forced all the grase out of the swing arm bearings. Used to make a right noise after that. To fix this you'll need to take the swing arm off the bike and re-grease everything.

I'd suggest you stop being lazy and clean it properly.

I do, but i cant be arsed to scrub all the dirt off after my crappy hose wont wash the stuff off properly- even with the cleaning spray on.

Probably not a good idea to blast it into the radiator either.

Why no the radiator? the bearings are obvious, also dont go spraying it where you know the air intake is or the exzaust...or directley on electronics

car sponge warm soapy water, not being a lazy git then after washing throw a bucket of cold clean water over it. and jobs done no mucking around cant hit this and that. !!

It's a real pain having to clean your bike so often - I can't wait for the day THESE are on garage forecourts around the country

I find the pressure washer really good for the tyres especially this time of year. It's great at getting out all the muck and dirt and stuff the tread picks up. I pressure wash my bike all u have to do is stand a little further back or not press the trigger in so far. I suppose a hose would do jsut a good a job with your finger half over the spout but aitn as quick

Dont wash your bike in hot water is a good start. It reacts with the road salt and speeds up corrosion.

They reckon thats even more important in summer.

Hein Gericke do a bike cleaner which you MUST use with cold water. Rates quite highly I believe...
