I'm having my recent Ebay purchase rebuilt/restored/reconditioned by Kais Suspension, they're setting it to my body weight/bike/type of riding. It's my first ever and probably newest shock I've had fitted to a bike.

Won't be installing it until after Christmas most probably but just wondered what I can expect it to be. Will it transform the Blade into the best handling bike I've owned (the stock RVF wasn't too bad)?

Worth getting some Ohlins fork springs for the front?

I would always do the front and rear suspension at the same time. You will probably find that the rear won't squat as much when accelerating and it should be transformed over bumps. Not much point in that is the front is still as vague as a drunk politician.

Cheers

Out of interest mate, how much are you paying for it to be done?

Want to get it done on my ZXR's shock, so just want to know how much to expect to pay.

Cheers

Haven't been quoted for the finished job yet, but rebuilds are £45 plus VAT plus parts. There's a few cosmetic bits on the shock that require replacing/restoring.

I aim to get the front end sorted afterwards, it's just that the shock came up on Ebay and I happened to win the bidding. The Blade's kind of off the road atm (well, I'm not using it, but could be taken out whenever I choose) so the forks will be sorted before the spring; work in progress kind of thing.

Ohlins fork springs are only £70 anyway, might as well include them in a fork rebuild.
