I did a search on this and there didn't seem to be much posted recently. So apologies if I missed something
I have seen a Honda XR125, two years old for sale at £1600. It is in good nick, has 3350 miles on it. This price seems a bit high to me. It also has a slight weep from the fuel tap. Easy to fix?
It looks like its based on the CG125 engine which should be solid am I right?
Finally any experiences from past or present owners would be good. Especially from the girlie/short legged learner perspective.

Shop around and you get them for £2k new so thats a tad over price, id try and knock him down or keep looking/go new.

Rock solid engine and build quality, the luggage rack makes it look more camp than a row of tents but it is a good bike Smile

xlr 125 what an awesome bike.
i had a y2k example this summer it cost me £750 with 6 months tax and 8 months mot.i had it for about a month while i waited for my test.did about 1500 trouble free miles(just put petrol in it and ride+spray the chain with lube now and then).
it did nothing exciting but then its a 125 4 stroke with knobbly tyres.with a "full sized" person like me riding it didnt go much over 65mph.
but it was very easy to ride and all it needed was a clean and i sold it for £850.
i would say it depends on what you want from a learner bike.
if you are a kid and need something cool or something to ride round on for a while then dont get the honda, get a dt or an nsr or any 2 stroke.
if you want something to practice on while you wait for your test date and you dont mind being a bit slow then the xr/xlr will serve you well.

Thanks for your replies and confirming that its a tad over priced. I thought it looked quite funky.
