my nc30 has a tendancy for the headlights to suddenly go from dim to bright every so offen. also sometimes the bike seems to bog down suddenly like its missing. ive changed the plugs recently cleaned the carb and have had the ht leads checked which seemed fine but it keeps doing it every now and again. question is could my reg/rec /battery/ cdi unit, be causing these problems

checked my voltages across my battery readings are as follows could the surge cause my bike to miss ??? or even a dodgy rec/reg

bike off 12.63v
bike off lights on 11.43
bike idling 14.43 this was a gradual incress from 12.63v
bike held at a revs of 5000rpm was 14.12v then once it suddenly jumped to 15.64 in a split second

How old is the bike mate ?.. Do you know how often its been cleaned or how it was stored in the past as maybe water has gotten into some connections Question

Could be the regulator/rectifier not too certain on this as i have had little experience of NC30's so dont know what else to suggest.. it does seem a bit weird tho the voltage jumping...

Dont spose you know how old the battery is either ???

You posted the same thing 3 weeks ago, https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=767720&highlight=#767720 if it's still doing exactly the same then you have a problem, it can really only be the reg/rec causing the problem. If it surges higher you could have a lot of expensive damage to repair. Start with a reg/rec you know is good and see what happens to the readings, they should go up fairly smoothly with revs not stutter like yours is.
