bike "lurches" at 6-7k revs?

when im buzzing around on the bike, at about 50-70mph, and say im sitting at 6-7k revs, the bike sort of lunges fowards, and actually rocks me back and foward a bit. nothing úbér serious but annoying.

if i pop her down a gear and the revs drop, the lurching stops....

im guessing that this means that its not the wheel, but i dont know what it is then?

any ideas?

I believe its called hunting.

You're on the edge of the powerband so the bike trys to get into it but keeps falling out.

Same happens on bikes with power valves when you decelerate.

must look on ebay to find an aftermarket powerband then, do you think that would help?
