recently, my bike has only been starting when it is completely cold, like the first startup of the day...
i have changed the battery, spark plug, and charged the battery, but still no luck...
anyone got any ideas of what it could be, im getting bored of bumping my bike...me and my mate are going to start taking bets on if it starts or not as it very rarely starts after being ridden

any ideas ?

the bike is a rieju rs2 50cc matrix race replica Thumbs Up Cool

I can't tell you what's wrong exactly. I can tell you it's probably electrical though.

I'd check the connections at the battery first.

What happens when you press the starter button? How easy is it to get to the starter motor so you could connect it to the batter direct?

If you can connect the starter motor direct and have no problems, then there's a problem with the wiring somewhere.

Another thing I'd check would be the choke. Make sure you're not riding with the choke on.

Oh and try giving it a proper run somewhere. Get it moving a bit and it'll clean the bike out and you should notice a difference.

Sorry, I'm not an expert, just some ideas to be looking at Thumbs Up

Did you really push the bike hard? I don't know if there's a good explanation as to why but it normally helps. Especially with 2 strokes.

I was having alot of problems with my bike starting. I went out for an hour and was acceleration hard, braking hard, holding gears a bit too long etc. It now runs miles better than before. Maybe coincidence, maybe not.

Have you got the right spark plugs for the engine? Are the gaps correct? Not quite sure why bump starting it would get it running but the button wont if the starter motor is working fine.

Is the bike standard or have you changed any bulbs/electrics?

It doesn't sound like anything too serious, just an annoying little problem that's being overlooked.

Just some more things to try Thumbs Up
