hello, i have a DT125r and i had it jacked up "carefully" with a car jack and some wood (yes i know im stupid)
i was fitting new chain and sprockets, and the front sprocket was stiff to get back on, so a little "gentle persuasion" with a hammer i got the sprocket on and thought it hit it one last tap to make sure it was right on and the bike fell, hitting into the edge of my garage wall

it put quite bad scratches on the plastic and tank

does anyone have any good ways to repair the scratches on the plastic? as i cant find anywhere that sells new fairings

Yesterday when cleaning the vfr i asked myself the same question, although in my case its only small scratches. You might be able to get one of these scratch and dent companies that do repairs to car bodywork to do the work. They must do plastic aswell cos thats what bumpers are made of.

Not stupid up to that point. The point at which you were stupid was when you started work without having substituted the jack for two piles of bricks or axle/ engine stands. Having another person handy to hold things (steady) can be a good idea too.

i knew it was stupid, but i had my bike test in 2 hours and had to change 2 sprockets, cut chain, fit chain, put wheel back on and drive to the test centre.

so as you see i didnt have much choice as i had nobody at hand to help me

and, its the plastic that is black, no paint
