 |
|
Possibly a silly question, but hey....
A friend has an SV650S and she has a bit of trouble with the reach on the clutch lever. The brake is obviously no problem, as there is easy reach adjustment on that one. The clutch bite is close to the handlebars, so the majority of the lever travel is 'dead', if you see what I mean.
Is there any way to adjust the reach (e.g. at the other end), or can aftermarket levers be had, or anything like that? ____________________ Monster m600

That's probably part of the issue, but the main problem is that the lever is too far out from the bar at rest - she can only just get her fingertips around it. Would adjusting the clutch bring the lever in? ____________________ Monster m600

Nope
I'm not sure how you could do that, without some personal customisation, i.e. welding stuff.
Perhaps she shouldn't have bought the bike if she can't reach the levers. ____________________ Yamaha TDM 850 |

I'm not sure that would have put her off, to be honest
I mean it's not critical, but let's say it would be more comfortable if it could be 'tweaked' a bit. In fact, I would go so far as to say that I find the same thing on my Bandit to a certain degree, I am more comfortable with the brake than the clutch. ____________________ Monster m600

As Quik_D said: Bend the lever.
What determines how much movement the lever has is the metal casting it sits in... Stick a little bit of wood or something in there to stop it returning all the way.
Both methods would be 100% effective, but somehow I get the feeling that you will spend large amounts of money on the 'adjustable' aftermarket lever ____________________ Hard livin', hard luck. |
