Buying supermoto wheels like the ones that come on the DTX would cost you just as much.

They dont cut out when wheelying, why should they? They are just a DT125R with different wheels and brakes.

They are good bikes.

The DTx125 uses Excel rims mate, shod with superbike rubber. find them for less than £700.

Would probably be because of the good old fasioned :-

Oil tipping to the back engine and seizing it thing, but to be honest i dont see it being that much of a problem as long as you arent wheelieing for extended periods of time. But i'd check with someone who knows what they are talking about first Razz

Wasn't there some kind of device for sale on ebay a while back that cut the engine out after you hit a certain angle from wheelies or something? Bit of a long shot I know but maybe it would of been fitted at the factory?

I think they called em a wheelie wand. And i dont think they would have been fitted at the factory, its an aftermarket manufacturer who makes them

It's a 2 stroke so the oil is in the petrol. It won't cut out when wheelying, your mate is talking bollocks.

The oil is in a tank under the left hand fairing, if wheelying for long periods of time the oil could tip to the back and create air bubbles in the oil line which is not a good idea. Can't be that bad seeing as people wheely them like that though.

Not just 17's, excel 17's. Besides what good is the extra grip if you don't have the big brake kit like on the supermoto. I bet it would work out far cheaper just to outright buy the supermoto than fanny about with a conversion.
