Fooking shit my pants , poured boiling water down the little slope my drive has so i could get out onto the street , the streets on my estate where covered in snow but it had all iced up so it was ice snow.

Anyway came onto the street knocked it into first and because the clutch hadnt warmed up and i wasnt reving my bike it decided to try set of in its own so the back end slided out straight away i was like argh. The bike cut out so of i went about 5mph on the biting point all the time.

When you get to the end of my street it starts to curve and go downhill , was slightly worried about this for obvious reasosn, of there is also speed ramps.

I came around the corner very close and near the kurb as the snow was softer so i pulled the clutch in put the foot on the back brake gentle and had my left foot hovering above the floor slowly rolled down the hill to a juncion, by this time there was a car behind so i turned left onto another street covered in more snow and ice.

Off i was going my last road before i got onto a main road which i was looking forward to , so i was plodding along at about 5mph when this ASSHOLE in the car behind me got up my fucking ass i could have kissed his bumper so i had to pull over and let hime past. Now the road gently starts to slope so i was getting pretty nervous again when i saw a nice patch on the oppasite side of the road grit and snow free . I was just about to go onto it when a car pulled out i was like Nooooo .

Well i safetly got of my estate after about 20 mins and here i am home typing this nice and safe.

But on the way home i broke down , LMAO something had to happen didnt it Embarassed

Looks like its going to be another icey snowy night though.

Marc Thumbs Up

Actually I think that's the first time I heard of anyone thawing their drive with hot water.
Just think how much worse it will be when it freezes again Shocked

Not another selfish type pouring water everywhere so it runs onto the pavement and freezes?

It's frosty round here, but not slippery enough to worry even me as I hobble along. However, I didn't factor in all the morons clearing their windscreens with water, which pooled into nice black-ice death traps on the pavement. I was tempted to pretend to fall over on one and then sue them, just to teach them a lesson.

A stiff brush got rid of all the snow in front of the house here, all 1 inch of it. All adding water will do is produce black ice. My brother binned his scooter again on ice, this time entering a petrol station. He decided to give up on the idea of going to work. In general without ice on the roads, I think it's safe to ride. Thin snow gets turned to slush pretty quickly. With a decent deep tread on your tyres, the tread blocks will cut through the snow to the tarmac pretty effectively. Just don't try to ride as though you have any real traction or grip in the corners. Increase your braking distance by a large amount and don't go very quickly in the first place.

And then you remembered that in your current state, that would really not be the wisest idea [I hope!]

Why exactly were you out on the bike anyway dude? I'd have taken my push bike - much more fun, and doesnt cost a bomb if you lowside it.

Why is it, with dangerous and icy conditions, you still get muppets in cars driving around like there racing drivers? Do they not any brains, i was in the cage today, it was very very slippy. Yet still had the usual suspects (white van men, private hire taxis, BMW speed freaks, boy racing tossers etc)

Some people realy are stupid, slow the fuck down before you kill yourself, or even worse somebody else.
