is the 1984 one not one of the early XT's with a ohlins rear shock ? if your shock is knackered and it is a ohlins they are completely rebuildable (im led to believe)

Dunno if this is the right model or what your budget is

Hagon Yamaha Listing

Price for it is £255

If i spot any other alternatives i will let you know it may be worth visiting

https://www.busters-accessories.co.uk

BITUBO MONOSHOCK YAMAHA XT600 Tenere 83-89 £179.99

i got a Bitubo from busters for my GPZ750 streetfighter... very impressed and the instructions/manual for it were very comprehensive too Smile

Hope this helps and its probably a more cost effective solution Cool
