Hi,

Placed an order for new rear pads at M&P, they e-mail and check the bike and tell me I'd ordered the wrong pads. They change the order for the right pads, 2 days later they arrive on my doorstep. Big thumbs up to M&P Thumbs Up.

Anyway, after further thought and inspection, decided I'd be better off changing the front pads now, rather than on the pavement in a few months time outside my uni house! Also am going to buy a spare set for next time I need them!

Logging onto the M&P site, it gives me millions of options of different pads - even though I've given it my bike details (1996 GPZ500s). I know the rear pads are "FA67/3" but have no idea as to what the front pads are!

Can anyone shed some light onto the pads I need for the front and what these numbers mean?

Cheers,

Craig

FA is the EBC Bike brake pad designation

67 is the type of pad

3 is the thickness.

FA67's come in 3 different thicknesses.

Methinks you have been looking in the M&P catalogue.

Probably only FA129. The 4 M&P put in to annoy the trade.

Thank you both very much Thumbs Up

Are these numbers an industry standard or just relivant to EBC? Are there any brake pad manufacturers other than EBC?

Cheers,

Craig
