Happy New Year to all,

My Haynes says I should use a 'light oil' to soak the air filter. What is a 'light oil' or which oil should I use with the air filter on the CG?

The short discussion I had with a friend of mine about the relationship between viscosity and oil 'lightness' didn't actually get me anywhere... Confused

Thanks,

hedjehog (Jack)

I rarley use anything Embarassed .... I think the oil is meant to catch the small particals which could fit through the filter but its up to you, the filter gets most of it.

When it asks for a light oil I use something like that which you might use for your bicycle, lawnmower, door hinges, things like that. Handy oil in a little bottle with a spout should do. If you oil it while the filter is still wet/ damp, you can produce an emulsion of the two which will make it easier to work through the foam.

This kind of thing.
