ok I just found out I might not be able to ride my bike for a good 10-12 months!
I have broken my wrist and it's in such a place that it takes awhile to heal but the fact that even when the plaster is off a knock might still upset it like holding onto a handle bar!
Thing is I did'nt do this on a bike so even more stupid........aaaaahhhhhh

Ask your doctor or a nurse at the hospital if wearing a good sports wrist support would help or make a difference.

Make sure it is not just the physio/orthopod being an unhelpful smartarse, because they have a tendancy to.

I asked them when I would be able to start riding my bike again after I broke my wrist and got the incredibly useful reply of "If you never ride the bike again it would suit me fine.". So I rode the bike to my first physio appointment and appeared carrying my helmet.

At this point the woman promptly went ballistic and gave me a more useful answer of 'in another six weeks'. This wasn't too much of a problem because I could ride the bike without using my left hand anyway, I was just resting it on the bars, not really using it to move anything (that bike had clutch that also worked off the gear lever).
