looking for some downhill trails around hampshire area, found a few at QE country park (off the stated trails) and one of them is mucho fun, very long, not amazingly challenging but pretty quick and technical with a couple of places to get air (not that I can yet ! Laughing) its in a fern forest bit on the otherside of the park, its not marked as a trail but i think it must be used for competitons or something or other as its definely been used trail..

Anyone got any ideas of other local ish places with more downhill sections? not after anything seriously tricky yet but just some more places to practice. and anyone got any DH bike parts for sale cheap? i got a spare frame was going to chuck a single gear dh set up on for a bit of fun if i can get the parts cheap.. having fun on my DB full susser tho so im not too desperate for bits .. just if anything comes up cheap Smile

Does anyone do DH here ? any tips!

i fell off on sunday, jumped landed heading towards tree so jumped off Laughing Embarassed

think ive got the bug for this cos ive never been so desperate to get back out in the cold wet and mud to go do physical exercise lol. going to hit the dh trail this week, this time round with some body armour and a helmet and a view to go faster Cool

Have a look at the forums on https://www.southerndownhill.com/, supposed to be quite a good place to pick up cheap dh bikes/bits.

Theres quite a few good downhill tracks around the midlands and the surrounding borders. Ive been to alot of them, places like Radnor, Hopton, Ribbesford, Ludlow, Kinnerton, Cearsws. There is also Kinver edge, but it not a proper track used for races, more of a place to check your bike is working properly Laughing

Have a spy on these websites, should say where the tracks are:

https://www.superseries.net/

https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/web/site/BC/bchome/home.asp

https://www.npsdownhill.co.uk/

Thumbs Up

::edit:: Its also well worth doing uplift days (check the super series website). Basically, you pay something like £6ish and for most of the day a tractor with a trailer will take you to the top of the track, then you can ride down and it will take you back up again Razz
