£240 ouch.

If you've got tools and your bikes in a garage/lock up, why not just whip the wheels off? Just stack the bike up on something stable.

£240 is a bit OTT!

Whereabouts are you? Profile looks like you're fairly close. If you've got some jacks and some blocks of wood I could help out.

STS Tyres in St Albans will take your bike in and change the tyres.

Last time I got mine done it was £180 for the pair, including labour.

Details below:

STS Stapletons Tyre Centre
115-117, London Rd, St. Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 1LR
Tel: 01727 866028

There's an STS in Watford as well, but I don't know if they do it:

STS Stapletons Tyre & Exhaust Centre
223-229 High Street
Watford
Hertfordshire
WD1 2HQ
Tel: 01923 234666

Thumbs Up

I took mine to local bike garage, they always do tyres.

They were same price as other tyre places localy also.

The reason that most tyre places won't touch bikes is because of insurance, ie insurance classes removing a wheel on a bike is mechanical, whereas on a car its not. I was told this by a chap who had his own tyre place.

What he said, is I will tell you how to do it and I have all the tools and stands.

Personaly i'd let my bike garage do it, I could take the wheel off, but I like an easy life.

£240 Surprised mine cost me £160 a time, diablo corsas. You guessed it though, to loose wheels . . . although they will do ride in ride out for an extra tenner a wheel.
