Im getting New tyres front and back tomorrow.
at the moment they are bridgestones 012s,the new ones will be bridgestones 020s
i understand that i have to run them in for 100 miles
what can i actually do with them new
can i go on the motorway and do 70
do i still stick to my normal speeds on bends
do i need to be more cautious in the wet
and will i need to keep a safer braking distance.

can anyone help with this

Basically, you can do pretty much whatever speed you like in a straight line, but be a litle more cautious on cornering for the first few miles at least, treat it as though the road is fairly slippery - low angles of lean and gentle braking. Once you've got a few miles done, gradually increase your corner speed and braking effort untill you are at "normal" levels.

They put a compound on them to help get the tyres out of the moulds - it's that that causes the problem.

The 100 miles thing is a guideline. If you do 200 miles on the motorway you won't have scrubbed them in as you've not used all of the tyre. Likewise if you've deleted your chicken strips on both sides within 20 miles, you're cooking with gas and you can forget the 100 mile rule.

I've just scrubbed in a pair of BT014s and it's not nice having new tyres on these greasy roads Sick

Follow Zimbo's advice and you'll be fine.

Chicken strips are the part of the tyre you haven't used. They show trhe lean angle of the bike i.e. how far over you've had it. Some people think it shows how good/fast a rider you are but to be honest, someone hanging off will have the bike more upright than someone who doesn't

This might explain it better:

I like the z750. Good all round hoolie tool Smile Rhencullen do some nice parts for it.
