Hi people,

Spent the day cleaning the carbs out and a few other little bits, finally get the carbs and airbox's back in and try to fire her up.

All I get now is a leccy arcing noise from the starter relay and thats it Shocked

Im guessing theres a short somewhere in the starter circuit as alot of the cables run between the airbox's. Im hoping its the main cable from the relay to the motor as its easiest to trace (not being in a loom and all).

Anyone have any ideas what it could be other then what I think?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

If the starter relay just seems to be clicking then this is due to a flat battery, Thumbs Up Dan

Yep, if it's 'chattering' that's a sign that there's enough juice to energise the coil, but as soon as the contacts make to bring in the starter motor then the voltage drops and the contacts break again. Then the voltage climbs, the contacts close and so on.....

First thing to check is that the heavy battery leads are on tight, then look at charging the battery.
