Well its making a whistling style noise so i'll guess it'll fail the MOT.

Where's the best place on line to look for this, i'm not interested in owt fancy, its an ER.

I've seen Wemoto do one for about £210, which is fucking expensive seen as I can buy both parts of an exhaust and a Cat for my Mondeo for about £150 and that's fitted.

Anyone?

Ohh ive tried Ebay.

if it's a small hole causing problems just use some chemical metal to get you through the mot. Or check who is breaking bikes on ebay (it updates regularly)

I don't think it will fail it's MOT mark.

It only done that whistling occasionally when I had it, I presume it's got worse.

Stainless steel systems from motad or nexxus do go for about £100 on ebay when they're up, I think they're roughly £200 new.

Genuine Kawasaki er5 exhausts will retail at about £400. On ebay (really, the only place I can think of) they go for ~£50 if that. You could always chop the standard exhaust off (on the pipe) and replace the silencer with a second hand exhaust off ebay (£30?) but you'd have to find someone to make a link pipe for you.

Thanks Greg, only just noticed this whilst doing a search.

No i'm not sure if it will fail, however if so, i'll get a stainless steel one.

I'm forever painting the current one. (ie it burns away after a week or 2).

I believe it has a removeable baffle which means its legal for you. But honestly, if you're considering buying a replacement system, get that one. Just email to see if it does have a removeable baffle. Smile

Mine used to make a whistling noise, certainly more noticeable when idle. I checked everywhere for a hole, but couldn't find one.

I did consider it being down to the restrictors causing a change in the gases from the engine which the exhaust wouldn't take into account.

It got through it's MOT perfectly fine. On my last MOT he only ckecked to see if it was a bit noisy. No emissions or the state of the can.
